How to reach Chinaga Betta.

Car: The convenient way of accessing Chinaga Betta is by coming from Bangalore. You can take NH 209, which connects well to the city via Kanakapura Road. The drive will take you about 1.5 to 2 hours depending upon the traffic conditions, and you will have a nice smooth drive through the countryside with picturesque views towards the hill. From the base of the hill, you'll find a marked trailhead where you can start your trek. Take a means of public transport for those without a private vehicle. From Bangalore, one can take the public buses and taxis. The public buses from the Majestic Bus Station often go to Kanakapura. Here one can hire an auto-rickshaw or cab to reach the base of Chinaga Betta. It is about 2.5 to 3 hours from the bus and auto-rickshaw.

By Train: The other option is by train from Bangalore to Kanakapura. Some trains run from Bangalore City Railway Station to Kanakapura, which will take about 1.5 hours. From the Kanakapura Railway Station, you can ride a cab or an auto-rickshaw to the base of Chinaga Betta.

1. Kanakapura: It is the closest town to Chinaga Betta and has pleasant surroundings and temple sites. Good place for rejuvenation either before or after climbing. 2. Shivanasamudra Falls: This is one of the highly sought-after waterfalls in Karnataka and it falls about 70 kilometres from Chinaga Betta. Shivanasamudra Falls has been formed from River Kaveri which bifurcates into two parts of broad river beds to the north and south that create a scintillating view. 6. Ramanagaram: It is a town approximately 50 km from Chinaga Betta, through which the famous movie Sholay was shot. Surrounded by rocky hills, it is a hot destination for rock climbing and trekking. The place is also known for the silk industry and local markets selling their silk products.
