A 5–6 day tour is recommended to explore Shillong, Cherrapunji, Dawki, and Mawlynnong, along with waterfalls, caves, and local villages. A shorter trip of 3–4 days covers key attractions, but an extended stay allows a more immersive experience, including offbeat destinations like Laitlum Canyons and Shnongpdeng for adventure and relaxation.
The best time to visit is October to April, when the weather is cool and perfect for sightseeing. Winter (November–February) offers pleasant temperatures, while spring (March–April) brings blooming landscapes. Monsoons (June–September) enhance the waterfalls but can make travel difficult due to heavy rain, landslides, and slippery roads, which may cause delays.
We provide a variety of stays, including cozy homestays, comfortable hotels, and luxury resorts, catering to different budgets. Homestays offer a local experience, while hotels and resorts provide modern amenities. Depending on the location, accommodations may include scenic views, bonfire arrangements, and local-style hospitality to enhance your overall travel experience in Meghalaya.
We provide private vehicles with experienced drivers for a comfortable travel experience. Since Meghalaya’s terrain consists of winding roads and hilly areas, a well-maintained vehicle ensures a smooth journey. Depending on the group size, we arrange cars, SUVs, or tempo travelers for sightseeing, allowing flexibility and convenience while exploring the region.
The package covers accommodation, meals as per the itinerary, guided sightseeing, entry fees, and local transportation. We also include visits to major attractions like Nohkalikai Falls, Dawki River, and the Living Root Bridges. Customizations such as adventure activities, special meals, or extended stays can be arranged upon request for a personalized experience.
Pack warm clothes, trekking shoes, a raincoat, an umbrella, a flashlight, and power banks since Meghalaya’s weather can be unpredictable. A backpack for carrying essentials during day trips is useful. If traveling during the monsoon, waterproof gear and quick-dry clothing are essential, while winter trips require layered clothing for cooler temperatures.
Yes! The package includes a visit to the famous Double Decker Living Root Bridge in Nongriat, a natural wonder formed by interwoven roots. The trek involves descending over 3,000 steps and crossing scenic landscapes. This is a must-visit for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts, offering a blend of history, culture, and sustainability.
Meghalaya offers a variety of local Khasi dishes along with Indian, Chinese, and Continental cuisine. Popular foods include Jadoh (rice and meat), Dohneiiong (pork curry), and Tungrymbai (fermented soybean dish). Vegetarian options are available, but local Khasi food is predominantly non-vegetarian. Cafés and restaurants in Shillong and Cherrapunji cater to diverse tastes.
The trek to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge involves a steep descent of over 3,000 steps and can take 2–3 hours each way. The return trek is challenging due to the uphill climb, requiring moderate fitness. Carry water, energy snacks, and trekking shoes for a comfortable experience while enjoying the scenic beauty.
ATMs are available in Shillong and some major towns, but remote areas like Mawlynnong and Cherrapunji have limited banking facilities. It’s advisable to carry sufficient cash for small purchases, entry fees, and meals at local eateries. Digital payments are accepted at many hotels and restaurants, but network issues may cause transaction delays.
WiFi is available in most hotels and homestays in Shillong but may be limited in remote areas like Dawki and Mawlynnong. Jio and Airtel provide the best mobile network coverage, but signals can be weak in hilly areas. Carrying a local SIM card or downloading offline maps can be useful for navigation and communication.
Yes, you can join the trip to Meghalaya. The trip’s difficulty level is moderate and can be attained without someone’s support. Wear robust footwear, and comfortable clothes, and maintain basic fitness to complete the trek.
