One has to cover the three forts with a towering height of more than 4500 ft.
Yes, the trek to Alang Madan Kulang is safe as you will get an expert guide who will give your instruction throughout the trip along with setup ropes and harness. The guide will also help those who struggle to pull up in some places.
Trek leader will give you instructions for rappelling which will be fun. You just need a decent fitness level and should wear full-sleeved shirts, full-length trousers or track pants, and comfortable trekking shoes.

You should also carry things like water bottles, toiletries, raincoats, torches, backpacks, and headgear. Try to avoid wearing uncomfortable clothing, and stick to something you're comfortable in.
It is approximately 173 km away from Mumbai if you are traveling by road from the Lonavala side. You will have to reach Lonavala which is 83 km away from Mumbai. Lonavala to Alang-Madan-Kulang is approximately 201 km.
Pune to Alang-Madan-Kulang is approximately 180 km.

While coming to safety, safety is the first most priority of our community. So there are almost zero problems with doing a solo trek to Alang-Madan-Kulang trek.
